Shipping policy

1. Introduction and Scope

This Shipping Policy ("Policy") governs all shipments of products purchased through our online store operated by FUJIYA CO., LTD. This Policy is subject to and governed by the laws of the State of California. By placing an order with us, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Policy.

Our products are shipped from Japan to the United States using international carriers and local delivery partners. This Policy explains how shipping fees, delivery timeframes, and duties and taxes are handled for your order.

 

2. Order Processing

After your order is placed and payment is confirmed, we arrange shipment from Japan. Processing time before dispatch may vary depending on product availability, order volume, and shipping schedules. Order processing time is separate from the delivery timeframes described in this Policy.

 

3. Shipping Destinations and Delivery Timeframes

3.1 Shipping Destinations. We currently ship to addresses within the United States. Available shipping destinations and options are shown at checkout. Certain remote areas may have longer delivery times or limited service.

 

3.2 Delivery Timeframes. Delivery times may vary depending on destination, carrier conditions, and customs processing. The following timeframes are general estimates only and are not guaranteed:

  • Standard international shipping (most orders):
    • Estimated delivery: approximately 7–14 business days from the shipment date.
    • Customs inspections, weather, holiday seasons, or carrier delays may extend the delivery period.

If express or expedited options are offered in the future, estimated delivery windows will be displayed at checkout for those options.

3.3 Tracking Information. Once your order has been dispatched, you will receive a shipping confirmation email that may include tracking information when available. Please note that tracking updates may be limited while the package is in international transit.

4. Shipping Fees and Charges

4.1 Display of Fees. Shipping fees are displayed at checkout before you complete your purchase. Shipping charges depend on the products ordered, the delivery address, and the shipping method.

 

4.2 Subscription Orders. For prepaid subscription plans, shipping charges for each scheduled delivery in the subscription period are included in the total amount charged at checkout. You will not be asked to pay additional shipping fees at the time of delivery for those boxes.

 

4.3 Non-Subscription Orders. For one-time, non-subscription orders, shipping fees are calculated and shown at checkout based on your cart contents and delivery address. From time to time, we may offer free or discounted shipping for eligible non-subscription orders that meet the minimum purchase amount indicated on our website. Subscription orders are not eligible for free shipping promotions unless expressly stated.

 

5. Duties and Import Taxes (Delivered Duty Paid – DDP)

5.1 Duties and Taxes at Checkout. For U.S. customers, we generally ship on a Delivered Duty Paid (DDP) basis. This means that estimated customs duties and import taxes for your order are calculated and collected at checkout and remitted on your behalf.

 

5.2 Display of Duties and Taxes. At checkout, duties and import taxes are displayed as a separate line item labeled "Duties & Import Taxes". This amount is charged together with your product price and shipping fees.

 

5.3 Additional Charges. You should not be required to pay additional customs duties or import taxes to the carrier upon delivery for standard orders covered by this Policy. If you are asked to pay any additional amounts at delivery, please contact us with your order number and supporting details.

 

5.4 De Minimis Exemptions. As of August 29, 2025, certain de minimis exemptions for low-value imports may no longer apply to some shipments. In practice, this means that duties and taxes may be assessed regardless of the order value. Our checkout process is designed to estimate and collect these amounts in advance under the "Duties & Import Taxes" line so that you do not have to pay additional amounts at delivery. However, actual assessments by customs authorities may differ from estimates in some cases.

 

5.5 Duty and Tax Calculation Provider. We use a single duty and tax calculation provider integrated with our store to determine the "Duties & Import Taxes" amount shown at checkout. We do not stack multiple duty or tax applications for the same order.

 

6. Food Products and Perishable Items

6.1 Packaging and Sensitivity. Many of our products are food items with limited shelf life. We package and ship them with appropriate care, but they may be sensitive to temperature, handling, and transit time.

 

6.2 Inspection Upon Delivery. Please inspect your order promptly upon delivery. Any issues with food items (including damage, spoilage, or incorrect items) must be reported within 3 days of delivery, as described in our Refund & Return Policy.

 

6.3 Exclusions of Responsibility. We are not responsible for quality issues arising from:

  • Failure to retrieve the package promptly after delivery;
  • Improper storage after delivery; or
  • Customer's decision to delay receipt or reroute the package.

7. Address Accuracy and Undeliverable Packages

7.1 Responsibility for Address Accuracy. You are responsible for providing a complete and accurate shipping address at the time of order. This includes apartment/suite numbers, building names, and any other details required for successful delivery.

7.2 Returned Packages. If a package is returned to us, including our U.S. returns facility located at 290 King Street, Suite 10, San Francisco, CA 94107, United States (managed by Fujiya USA Corporation), due to an incorrect or incomplete address, refusal of delivery, or failed delivery attempts, we may, at our discretion:

  • Offer reshipment to a corrected address, with additional shipping fees charged; or
  • Process the order in accordance with our Refund & Return Policyy.

7.3 Non-Refundable Fees. Shipping fees for the original attempted delivery may not be refundable in such cases.

 

8. Risk of Loss and Title

8.1 Transfer of Risk. Once we transfer your order to the carrier for international shipment from Japan, title to the products and risk of loss pass to you.

 

8.2 Liability for Delays. We are not liable for delays or losses caused by carriers, customs authorities, or events beyond our reasonable control, such as weather, natural disasters, strikes, or other force majeure event.

 

8.3 Lost Packages. If your package appears lost in transit or does not arrive within a reasonable period beyond the estimated delivery window, please contact us with your order number. We will coordinate with the carrier to investigate and determine appropriate next steps consistent with our Refund & Return Policyy.

 

9. Compliance and Product Information

9.1 Compliance with California Laws. This Shipping Policy aims to comply with all applicable California laws and regulations, including but not limited to the California Transparency in Supply Chains Act.

 

9.2 Product and Label Compliance. Our products and labels are designed to comply with applicable California and U.S. laws and regulations for imported food products and consumer goods to the best of our knowledge.

 

9.3 Regulatory Approvals. Unless expressly stated, products sold through our online store are not "approved," "endorsed," or "certified" by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) or any other regulator. Any references to regulatory compliance in our materials relate to meeting applicable requirements, not to formal approval.

 

9.4 Customer Review of Product Information. Please review ingredient lists, allergen information, and storage instructions carefully before consumption or use. If you have any questions about a specific product, contact us before placing your order.

10. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

This Shipping Policy forms part of our Terms of Service. The governing law and dispute resolution provisions set out in our Terms of Service apply to this Shipping Policy and to any dispute arising from or relating to your orders and shipments.

We may update this Shipping Policy from time to time, including to reflect changes in carriers, shipping methods, delivery timeframes, duties and tax rules, or our internal operations. The version of this Shipping Policy posted on our website at the time you place your order will apply to that order. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above and may be communicated separately where required by law. Your continued use of the Services after any changes to this Shipping Policy become effective will signify your acceptance of the revised policy.
